Assistance Phones

McMaster University has placed numerous assistance phones throughout the campus for the protection and assistance of the community.

These phones are all red poles with blue lights. Once a phone is activated it rings directly to Security Services and the blue light begins to flash.

The Security Dispatcher will be happy to assist you, and if needed a Special Constable is dispatched to the scene.

These phones are tested by Security Services weekly to ensure that they are working correctly.

Presently McMaster University is in the process of installing new assistance phones on the campus. This project is expected to last the next few years. When completed McMaster will see 55 new assistance phones complete with new technologies and infrastructure principles. These new phones will be complete with a public address paging system and in many areas will have an CCTV unit mounted to the top.
