Important Application Information

Recruitment Process

  1. Call for applications via the university online application process (only electronic applications are accepted)
  2. Applications meeting minimal requirements, as posted, are invited to participate in the Applicant Testing Process.
    • Applicant Testing Process involves
      • Composition Exercise
      • General Knowledge Testing
        • knowledge from your educational background
        • knowledge of community-based policing in a university environment
  3. The top candidates from Applicant Testing are invited to meet with an interview panel to demonstrate their competencies for the position in a behavioural based interview.
  4. A conditional job offered is made to the successful candidate.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Strong keyboarding and computer skills
  • Strong knowledge of security and security systems
  • Be physically and mentally able to perform the duties of the position, having regard to your own safety and the safety of members of the public
  • A Law and Security Diploma from a Community College (or equivalent)
  • Be of good moral character and habits, meaning that you are an individual other people would look upon as being trustworthy and having integrity and good judgment
  • Have current certification in CPR and First Aid by the time you receive our offer of employment
  • Pass a security clearance as well as background investigation, credit and reference checks
  • Possess a valid Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) Police Constable Certificate or Ontario Police College Recruit Training Certificate. You MUST have the OACP Certificate before the interview date.
